Quilts for the Indiana Veteran's Home

One of our guild members, Squeakie, is a member of the American Legion Post #11 and they sponsors 15 residents of the Indiana Veteran's Home. They asked her if the quilt guild would be willing to make lap quilts for those residents.

The guild members, true-to-form, stepped up to the plate and produced, not 15, but 30 quilts to be distributed. The additional quilts went to roommates of the original 15 and also to several residents that have no family in the area.

Something that is so enjoyable and everyday to us really made a difference to these residents. I hope that we do something like this again.

Our Charity Committee Chairperson, Sue, notified the local TV station and they came out to do a story about these quilts. I didn't know when I left the house that I would be on the news, but I was happy to share this project.

Here's a link to the story that ran on the local news.
