Linda worked on the embroidery in this quilt for over 6 years. It is certainly beautiful! Her stitches are perfect!
And some closeups:
The last one of these that I quilted I did some feathers in the rectangular border blocks and a loopy design in the squares border blocks. This time I just feathered all but the pieced blocks to give it some continuity.

Linda's 1930's
I finished Linda's quilt made with 1930's fabrics this week and it is so pretty. It will be a wedding goft to her granddaughter.
It was windy this week, so the pics are inside ones and not as great as if I had been outside.
I'm not sure of the pattern, but really had fun quilting it.
Hobbs 80/20 batting and Omni Pearl white thread.

Linda's Wedding Quilt #1
I finished this quilt that Linda made yesterday. She gave me 2 quilts that will be given to her granddaughter, one for the bridal shower and one as a wedding gift. I'm not sure which is which, but I wanted to make both of them special.
This is all freehand and I worked on it for 3 days, not the entire part of each day, but quite a while.

A close-up while in progress.
This is more the true color. The sun outside really changed the colors.

Linda's Civil War Quilt
This beautiful quilt took 9+ prewound bobbins to complete. I don't think I have ever used that many on one quilt, but it's certainly worth it as I think it turned out lovely.

It is 100 x 115 and Linda provided a Quilters Dream Wool batting. My first experience with wool and I LOVE the way it quilts. It was rather strange to me that the batting didn't hold the quilt top in place as much as a cotton poly blend, but I think I'll be ordering some for myself.

I used So fine thread on top and magna-quiilt bobbins.

It's raining here today, so no outside full picture. Hopefully tomorrow...

Some New Feathers for Me
I tried a new feather design last night and it turned out quite nice. I pounced the spine and the rest is freehand.

The blocks are continuous curves and the sashing is....well, I don't know what it's called, but I first decided to use it on the outer border and then decided on the sashing also.

And the back:

Hope Linda likes it!
