Look who came to visit Mabel and I!
Adrienne came on Sunday to quilt one of her quilts. It has been months since she's been here and it was good to catch up with her. She did a wonderful job on this quilt too! Adrienne has been battling that nasty cancer for several years now, but she's still staying positive and still loves to quilt her quilts.

Carole's Chinese Coins
Saturday afternoon I loaded and quilted this one for Carole. Every time I quilt one of these coin quilts, I think of all the leftovers I have from projects and how cute they would be made up like this.
I picked the panto Daisy Swirl, Permacore Canary thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.
And the back:
I knew I had to finish it up on Saturday because Adrienne was coming to quilt Sunday at 9:30. She quilted this very cute baby quilt, using Ribbon Twirl Panto. The baby is almost 4 months old and will love the bright colors.

Comfort Quilts
I've been working on these 2 quilts for a couple weeks now, but of course, I haven't been able to post much here about them.
Adrienne, one of our guild members is battling cancer now and we decided she needed a little comfort from her fellow guild members. So we made signature blocks. I assembled, quilted and bound this one and gave it to her last night.

The second one is for our guild president, Laurie. You might remember a post I did about her quilting a quilt for her daughter, who has just started her struggle with cancer. Well, a mom needs to be comforted too. So, we make signature blocks for her also. Peggy and I sewed on borders Sunday afternoon and then I quilted it and applied the binding so we could present it to her at last nights meeting.

And the back:

Hearts and Roses panto on Adriennes and Double Rose Vine on Lauries, Hobbs 80/20 batting and permacore thread on both.

Quilting on Sunday
Adrienne came over on Sunday to quilt a baby quilt she just finished. It's just adorable and she chose to use the Circle Lord Fan Clam board and quilt clamshells. Perfect design for this soft quilt. She chose a quilters dream bamboo batting that I had here and that just made it softer yet. Glide thread and bottom line in the bobbin.

And the back:

After she left, I loaded a piece of wide muslin and quilted these 2 quilts.
The first one is a NICU quilt for a local hospital and I turned the Circle lord boards around and quilted Baptist fans.

The second is my entry for the Quilters Dream ALS project.

Adrienne's quilt
My friend Adrienne came over today and quilted a quilt that she pieced many years ago. She is giving this one to her brother, who will be visiting in the next couple of weeks.

She hasn't been here to quilt for months, but only took her about half a row of the panto to get back into the rhythm of quilting. It was so nice to catch up on everything going on in our lives these days.
