My guild is having a crayon challenge and we drew 2 crayons from a bag and our challenge is to make something with those colors and may add neutrals.
My colors are Periwinkle and Yellow Green. I pulled some fabrics and started cutting 10” squares. I’m not very good at random, you know, so you may see some control in my layout here.
All sewn together with the border added.
Now, I knew I was going to do a blog post about this, but forgot to take any photos while cutting the blocks out. So, here are the blocks back up on the design wall. I have the strips for the outer borders cut and ready to sew on. I think this one will be a quick finish.
Here is what is leftover. I'm sure I can make something with the squares.

There have been lots of photos posted on the web of various ways to make up twister quilts -- wreathes, hearts and something else I can't remember ... they are too cool. I have got some fabrics picked out but haven't proceeded. You must have the large twister ruler? I'm hoping to get the small ruler this week. Thanks for sharing...
Pretty color combination! It looks random enough but still pleasing. Good job.
They are fun these twister quilts...you could probably make another one with the leftovers and the smaller ruler!
What a difference it makes to cut up a plain block quilt and put it back together again. I think I need one of those tools also. Your quilt is really pretty.
I just LOVE the 'Lil Twister quilts! I made one from a Charm Pack, one from a Layer Cake and one out of 3" squares (I made my own 'ruler' for that one) that I put in a frame! I love the idea of your crayon challenge too!
