Carla's 1930's Dress Quilt

Carla made another one of these oh-so-cute baby quilts. It's a panel with borders and cornerstones made from a part of the panel.

Light custom quilting with a freehand flower and loops border.

Meander in the blocks around the dresses and the printed rick-rack.

It's such a sweet baby quilt!

Angie's Irish Chain

I think this quilt is called an Irish Chain, but I could be wrong. Angie made it for a neighbor and it's very pretty. I chose to do a panto because of the fabrics. I though that custom quilting might get lost on this one, and she didn't care one way or the other.

Jacobean is the quilting design because of some of the designs on the fabric.

Great job Angie! It was a joy to quilt!

Dottie's Embroidered Quilt

Dottie embroidered these blocks and they look fantastic.

The alternating blocks are 4-Patch Posie blocks.

I chose Bountiful Feathers as the quilting pattern and used a cream Omni thread.

More Quilts For Kids

Cathy gave me a couple quilt kits that had been assembled and included the backing and binding fabrics. These were made by Sharon and are oh-so-cute!

They just got a simple meander in order to get them done by the delivery date in July.

Here are a couple more made by Sharon also. A Meander and e's and o's on these cute little girl quilts.

I have been getting some new thread from Superior Threads and was excited to try some new colors. Lime Green on the boy quilts and Pink on these girl quilts.

Sharon's Elephants

Sharon made this adorable quilt and her inspiration was the elephant fabric. It is Marrakech fabric  from the Karavan collection by Free Spirit. She added the sashing, complete with stars.

A freehand flowers and loops design in the outer border to emulate the flowers in that fabric. swirls in the sashing and Terry Twists in the cornerstones with some loops added into the star points.

The elephant itself is fused and then hand buttonhole stitched. The piece is pretty big so we wanted some stitching. Sharon suggested a blanket on the elephants back, so that's what I did, along with outlining the ears and eyes.

The backing is flannel using fabric from the same line.

I see one of these in my future!

Roberta's Christmas Wall Hanging

Here is a quilted piece that didn't take much time at all. Roberta is planning to applique reindeer on this piece. The antlers of the reindeer will be her grandchildren's handprints. I've never seen one quite like this, so I look forward to seeing it finished. She promised to share photos with me.

She wanted a swirling snow effect, so I chose Waterworld panto for the center and beadboard for the border.
