Angie's Irish Chain

I think this quilt is called an Irish Chain, but I could be wrong. Angie made it for a neighbor and it's very pretty. I chose to do a panto because of the fabrics. I though that custom quilting might get lost on this one, and she didn't care one way or the other.

Jacobean is the quilting design because of some of the designs on the fabric.

Great job Angie! It was a joy to quilt!

Carolyn's Navy and Tan Interlocking Rings

Carolyn made this quilt and I really love her border fabric!

The colors in this photo aren't true. What looks orange is really a beautiful tan fabric.

We chose Jacobean as the quilting design, Omni tan thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

It looks like this was a pretty confusing pattern to put together and make sure that the pieces looked like they are interlocking. I didn't notice it while quilting, but when I look at the photo of the whole quilt, I can see it.

Rosemary's 4-Patch Posie

This is a very beautiful quilt, made by Rosemary.

About 5 years ago, I taught my friends at a retreat how to make the 4-Patch Posie quilt. The next year there were 20 or so 4-Patch Posie quilts for show-n-tell. I felt like a proud parent for sure. I think there has been at least one 4-Patch Posie at show-n-tell each year since then.

Jacobean is the panto I chose, Omni lite tan thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting. It's just as pretty as can be.

I'll quilt some more of Rosemary's quilts when i return from Kentucky, so be sure to check back next week.

Carla's Jacobean

I'm not sure of the pattern name, so I'm calling it by the quilting design, which I think fits well with the fabrics. I love the colors n this one!

A closeup of the fabrics and quilting design:

Hobbs 80/20 batting and Omni tan thread. Love the back!

Susie's First Bed-size Quilt

Susie brought me this BOM quilt late last year and I just now got it quilted, well, last week! It is the very first bed-size quilt she's made.

She has made some table runners and small wall hangings, but nothing even close to this size. She did a wonderful job. It laid perfectly flat and was a joy to quilt.

I picked Jacobean panto as it reminded me somewhat of the paisley in one of her fabrics.

She was thrilled whe she picked it up and was anxious to put the binding on and lay it on her bed.
I'm sure she will be making lots more quilts!

And here's the back:

Hands 2 Help

Here's my quilted Hands 2 Help quilt.

I chose Jacobean panto and Omni Khaki thread, and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

A closer look at the fabrics
I will be sending my quilt to Emily of Em's Scrap Bag (for the Happy Chemo quilts).

And the backing:

Laura's Strip Quilt

Laura's Strip Quilt, that's what I'm calling it for lack of a better description. This 110" x 90" quilt is incredibly simple, yet so sophisticated.

A simple panto, Jacobean with black thread and Quilters Dream batting.

I love this center fabric!

Janet's Auction Quilt #2

This is the second quilt top that Janet purchased on Ebay. I haven't figured out why someone would spend all the time to piece a quilt top like this and then sell it.

I chose the Jacobean panto and I'm very happy with it. See that seam running diagonally through the middle....isn't that odd?

And the backing, which shows the quilting if you click on it.:

I'm almost half finished hand stitching the binding, so that's what I'll be doing this evening. I can't wait to wash it and see it all crinkled. I just may bid on this one at the auction.

Underground Railroad

A few years ago, I quilted an Underground Railroad quilt for my online friend Ardie.

She told me at the time that she was planning to make another one and sent it to me last week. I just finished quilting it on Sunday and shipped it back to her already.

This one is just as beautiful as the first.

Permacore Camel thread, Hobbs 80/20 batting and Jacobean panto.

2 Beautiful Quilts

I finally got photos of these 2 quilts, which are packed up and ready to be delivered to Rosemary while in Paducah. I wanted to take photos outside on the stand, but it has been raining here for 3 days now. I set it up inside and the colors are are not true, but you can still see that they are beautiful quilts.
The first one was quilted using the pantograph Jacobean by Keryn Emmerson, and the last is a Circle Lord Baptist Fan.

Whew, she's all fixed!

Well Mabel is back in business. All she needed was a new single stitch button. Many thanks to Jane's husband, Duane for talking me through the diagnostics stuff. Thank goodness I had some extra buttons here in a little parts kit that came with my machine.

I finished Rosemary's flying geese quilt last night before I started sorting coupons. I'll ge a better photo of it today, but here is a peek. Mother Goose Permacore thread, Hobbs 80/20 batting and Jacobean panto by Keryn Emmerson. Thisphoto is really washed out and doesn't show the beautiful colors at all.

Now, about those coupons....did you know that K-mart is having another double coupon event. I'm going to try to get there early so that the shelves for this weeks sale items are not empty like they were the last time. I really enjoy getting a great deal using coupons at CVS, Walgreens, Target, Meijer, and Kroger, but when I go to buy something the second day of a sale and the shelves are EMPTY, it irritates me. OK, I'm off my soapbox and heading out to shop, then quilt, then the birthday party at Chuck E Cheese!

Burger Queen and My Latest Quilting

Here are my step 3 blocks for the Stashbusters Burger Queen Mystery.........nothing new, huh? They look just like Step 2 except they are 6 inch instead of nine and twelve inch.

On to the quilting:

Carole's Romantic Strips is what I'm calling this one. I used the Tea Rose Panto, Mother Goose PermaCore thread and Hobbls 80/20 batting. The shots of the back do not do it justice, as it is a very pretty quilt, front and back.

Marty's Tessellation Roosters looks pretty striking when you see the whole thing. This one is Jacobean panto, Camel PermaCore thread and Soft and Crafty poly batting.

Now I'm going back to work on my new One Block Wonder quilt.

Another Jacobean

I finally got a chance to load a quilt last night. This one is Martys and it is a tessellation, using a 5 yard bundle picked up at a quilt show. Really cute and the poly batting gives the quilting a lot of definition. It was 9pm when I finished, so I don't have a shot of the entire quilt, but here are a couple shots. The panto is Jacobean, the thread is PermaCore Camel and the batting is Soft & Crafty poly.

Underground Railroad

Last night I quilted Ardeth's Underground Railroad quilt and what a beautiful quilt it is. I used the Jacobean panto, PermaCore camel thread and Warm & Natural batting. I must say that this was one of the most perfectly square and nicely pressed quilts that I have had the pleasure of quilting. Good Job Ardeth!!

Monday evening Adrienne came to quilt a baby quilt that was one of the guilds mystery quilts. She chose Popcorn Panto, PermaCore Natural thread and Warm & White batting. We enjoyed a couple glasses of wine while she quilted and I stitched down a binding. A very enjoyable evening!
