Coupons Galore!

I have used coupons in spurts since the 1980's, and it seems that I have caught the bug again.

This weeks shopping included K-Mart Double coupons up to $2 and I went on Sunday and took my order from $75 to $32. I didn't think to take a picture of my purchases. Of that $32, I bought 2 outfits for Elizabeth for $3.60 each, and some clearance Bratz items for granddaughters.

Yesterday on my lunch hour I stopped by Target and spent a whopping $1.36 for these items.

I ran to Target this evening and got these items for $5.04.

I try not to pick up things that I know we or our children or grandchildren absolutely will not use. But I must admit that sometimes it's hard if it's FREE or almost FREE.

I have attended a coupon class at a local community center the last two Mondays. I haven't really learned anything new, but its been kind of fun.

K-Mart Double Coupons

K-Mart is having another Super Double Coupon Event, however, here in Lafayette, they aren't tripling the 75 cent and less ones, they are just doubling all coupons up to $2.
Great deals I got today include V-8 Fusion that was $3.99 (yikes - pricey), but I had a $2 coupon which they doubled, so it was FREE! Some of my other free items include the salad dressing, BBQ sauce, DR Pepper, Quakes, J&J first aid tape. The sale price before coupons for my items was just over $60 and after coupons I paid $15.40. Nice huh?

All the baby items are for an upcoming baby shower which I am co-hosting in June and the candy is for my candy dish at work. Someone dropped a $5 bill in it on Thursday last week, so I guess that means they want more candy. It's nice when I can get a bag of the good stuff for less than a buck.

Julie went with me and it was so much fun to do this with her. She got over $80 worth of stuff for $41 and that included 4 packages of swimmers diapers. She had lots of coupons that I don't have since I don't usually get the Indy Star. Maybe I'll have to start getting it again.....

Whew, she's all fixed!

Well Mabel is back in business. All she needed was a new single stitch button. Many thanks to Jane's husband, Duane for talking me through the diagnostics stuff. Thank goodness I had some extra buttons here in a little parts kit that came with my machine.

I finished Rosemary's flying geese quilt last night before I started sorting coupons. I'll ge a better photo of it today, but here is a peek. Mother Goose Permacore thread, Hobbs 80/20 batting and Jacobean panto by Keryn Emmerson. Thisphoto is really washed out and doesn't show the beautiful colors at all.

Now, about those coupons....did you know that K-mart is having another double coupon event. I'm going to try to get there early so that the shelves for this weeks sale items are not empty like they were the last time. I really enjoy getting a great deal using coupons at CVS, Walgreens, Target, Meijer, and Kroger, but when I go to buy something the second day of a sale and the shelves are EMPTY, it irritates me. OK, I'm off my soapbox and heading out to shop, then quilt, then the birthday party at Chuck E Cheese!
