Carole made this quilt to give as a wedding gift. Lucky bride and groom, what a nice gift. It's a beautiful quilt!
Custom quilting with meandering feathers in the blocks and alternating leaves in the sashing.
Omni Spearmint thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.
Here's a much better shot of the quilting:

Another one for Carol
I loaded and quilted this 30 x 34" quilt for Carol B. It's another one of Carol Hopkins patterns, this one is called Lizzie's Tents.

Warm and Natural batting for these last 2 and PermaCore Mother Goose thread.

I quilted one of these for Carla here, so I was pretty sure how I was going to do this one.

Carol's Quilt
This quilt made by Carol is from the Carol Hopkins pattern Abigail's Gowns. Very cute quilt and I was in the mood for a little custom, so today I spent an hour quilting, then an hour working on a jizsaw puzzle, and then an hour on hand stitching the facing on a antique Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt that belongs to Betty Frank. Maybe I have a bit of A-D-D.

The pieced blocks have continuous curves with a loop in the flying geese blocks. On the solid blocks I drew diagonal lines from corner to corner and then quilted 3 loops in each section. It makes a great design and I was able to do a row of the setting triangles, one row of pieced blocks and 1/2 of a solid row with one start and stop. (Unless, of course, I run out of bobbin thread, darn it!)

Carol's Snowflake Quilt
I LOVE this quilt!!
The fabrics are so fun and the pattern looks to be fairly easy, maybe made up of strips cut into 2 different sizes and stitched together.
She wanted an allover design and I told her I would find something Christmasy. I found the panto Winter White by Dave Hudson, which I had never used and it was perfect. I do have to say that making these snowflakes got a little monotonous. I generally love to do pantos, but I guess because there was such a quick repetition on this one. Anyway, I love how it turned out.
The Moda Marble on the back look great!

And Three Little Quilts!
These were made by Carol and I have had them for quite a while, letting those who were in a hurry to get quilted first. For waiting, she is getting free batting on these. The first one is 60" square and I quilted it with the Circle Lord Swirls templates. Gives the quilt lots of movement, I think.

Permacore Yellow thread to give it some punch, and also the backing was yellow. This was the third quilt in a row to have solid yellow backing. I should buy stock in yellow wide backings!

These two are smaller, 32' and 29", and I used the circle Lord Baptist Fan template on them. PermaCore Dyed Natural thread and hobbs 80/20 batting on all three.

Carol's 1930's Quilt
I finished this quilt late last night and I am very happy with the outcome. The pattern is Lucky Stars by Atkinson Designs and looks just awesome done in 1930's fabrics.

I quilted continuous curves in the inner blocks, and a loopy meander in the sashing and some feathers in the outer border. Hobbs 80/20 batting and Permacore white thread. It certainly would have looked great with a panto also, but I'm glad I took the time to do custom quilting. I hope Carol feels the wame way!

And the back....Dan is so good at helping me get just the right shot of the backs. Isn't this great?
