Blizzard Quilting & Best Quilting Blogs!

What do you do at the start of a blizzard?

Quilt, of course!

Last night was the beginning with just a bit of snow, and then sleet. Now, we're in the calm before the real storm, I guess. We're supposed to get up to a foot of snow starting this afternoon and continuing into tomorrow.

I quilted these two little quilts last night, the first one is one of my UFO's. It is Christmas Tree Lotto Blocks that I won from Patches Quilt Works here.
I added a border a while back and it's been hanging since then. Quilting the Winter Pines last week motivated me to do this one also.

Then I loaded and quilted the baby squares quilt.

At least I'll have some bindings to do while the snow falls.

I've been featured on Guide to Art Schools' list of the Top Quilting Blogs. I'm not quite sure why as there are hundreds of blogs out there much more interesting than mine, but I'm honored just the same. Check out the link on my sidebar.

Stashbusting Report #35-36

Aug. 24-September 6, 2009

Fabric Added This Week - 10 yards
Fabric Added Year to Date - 131.75 yards

Fabric Used This Week - 3 yards
Fabric Used Year to Date - 181.375 yards

YEAR TO DATE STASH USED: 49.625 yards

Last weekend I bought 6 yards of backing fabric at Alco to have on hand.
Janet and I shared 20 FQs at Rossville Quilts on Saturday to make these really cute giraffe baby quilts. Rossville Quilts has a special on Saturdays if you bring in food for the food pantry, you get 5 free FQs when you buy 5. It's a great deal, don't you think?

Christmas Tree Lotto Blocks
Then I bought yet another yard for borders for the Christmas Tree Lotto Blocks and this one I like. My original idea was to use a TOT green, and I bought fabric not once, but twice, without the quilt center and the greens just didn't go well. So, I chose a Christmas tree print at Joann's and it finally has borders.

I Won the Block Lotto!

I am so happy to report that I won the Christmas Tree Block Lotto at Christina's blog: Patches Quiltworks. I have known for a while now, but wanted to wait till I received the blocks from her to show you.

Here they are, along with a suprise gift of some cute angel fabric. I saved 6 of my own blocks to add to the winning blocks and I let Christina keep my duplicate 5 blocks for her effort. This will make a cute project and we'll just have to wait and see if I get something put together this year.

Thanks so much Christina for hosting this block lotto.

Christmas Tree Block Lotto

In between quilting the 4PSP, I made some of these blocks to send to Christina for her Christmas tree Block Lotto. I made a total of 11 of them and sent 5 for the lotto. Just in case I don't win a set of 25 blocks, I can still make a little something with my six blocks.
