Elizabeth's 3rd Birthday Party

Elizabeth and her cousin Rylan shared a birthday party this year.

He's 5 and she's 3 and they're almost the same height. They were both cute as can be!

I made one cake for both of them, he wanted Smurfs and she wanted Dora. I found similar images of both of them and I think it turned out great. Can you see the dots of icing....orange and pink for her side and orange and blue for his side.

Here's Liz with her Barbie quilt.

Cake, party treats and FNSI

I finished Andrew's Chuggington cake tonight. Certainly not my best work but I'm sure he will like it.

Then I made some party favors for him. I picked up these cookie cutters for 25 cents at Joanns a couple months ago with a plan to use them for this. I read it on a blog, but now I can't find it to know who to give the credit to. Anyway, I melted Wilton candy melts and added rice krispies. I placed the cookie cutters on a cookie sheet with a sheet of wax paper. I spooned the chocolate into the cookie cutters and placed the whole thing in the fridge to chill.

Then I placed one in each bag, complete with ribbon. I added a little tag that I made with Chuggington on one side and Andrew's party info on the other.

Now on to the sewing room for a little Friday Night Sew-In

Guild Mystery Quilt

I finished putting together the guild mystery quilt Sunday evening. The pattern called for using only 2 fabrics and it may have looked better had I done that, but it stays as it lays! It's not one of my favorites, but it's in the to-be-quilted pile now.

Here's a picture of the birthday boy eating his cake. I'm told that he took his first steps yesterday........look out Julie and Jim, cause here comes Andrew!
