The Dresden Plates

This one is finished, binding and all. I'll ship it to Mary tomorrow and can't wait to see what she thinks. Thanks Viki, for the suggestion of pebbles in the center circles. Hobbs 80/20, which by the way has just gone up in price :(
So Fine and bottom line thread.

I love how the back looks:

How about some custom? And a GO!

I made a backing for the dresden plates tonight and loaded it. I'm almost half done and I'm liking the way it's turning out.

I haven't decided on the sashing yet, or the centers......any ideas?

The FedEx truck stopped at my house tonight and looky what came. My new Accuquilt Go Cutter. I played with it for just a bit, but needed to finish the backing, so more fun with this new toy later.

Well, the dresden plates made from the shirts is now a top! I have a few customer quilts to quilt before I can load this one and get it finished.

Time Flys!

Well, I don't know if I've been having fun or not, but have been spring cleaning, so no quilting at all. The carpets have been cleaned, windows washed, and the quilts all washed. We have a new bed from Denver Mattress, so we're sleeping very well.

Here's a note to all longarmers:
If you think your zippered leaders are looking dingy, DO NOT take them off and throw them in the washer. Why? Because the canvas shrinks, but the zippers don't. I have brand new leaders ready to attach to my rollers. That's the job for this evening.

I do have the last quilt top that I made at Threads of Time quilt retreat last weekend to show.

This one is made of leftovers from the Fig Tree Club table runner that I made in Shipshewana. All the projects that I made were from leftovers.
In the past, I have stacked leftovers in a pile and then every so often, I would move them to the appropriate colored plastic shoe box. Well, I'm going to try to use them up so they don't have to be stored. These last 4 quilt tops have worked out well for me.

Here is the full shot of the memory quilt from mens dress shirts. It was shipped on Tuesday and received yesterday. I hope they will send me some photos of giving it to Mary's mom.

Just a peek!

You can see just a peek of Andrew's train quilt for his 3rd birthday. His party is Sunday, so I better get busy and stitch that binding down. I'm making a Thomas train cake also, as he LOVES Thomas! I certainly can't believe that he's 3 already. The time has flown by.

Memory Quilt

Here is a shot of the memory quilt made with a deceased gentlemans shirts. The quilt is for his wife and I used all the leftovers for the back.

Design Wall Monday

Here's what my design wall looks like today.

Now, you're probably thinking, "It's a baby quilt in the making."
Nope, it is the remainder of the mens dress shirts from this quilt. I'm piecing a backing out of them. I think I may cut each row in half to make the pieces square-ish, rather than leaving them as rectangles, but it just may 'stay as it lays'

We'll see later this evening.

Check out all the design walls today at JudyL's blog.

Back From Shipshewana

I'm home and everything's put away and the laundry is finished.

First off, here's some cupcake eaters even in their jammies.

This is the dress shirt quilt that I finished at retreat. The back will be made using the leftover pastel shirts.

Here is my finished Fig Tree Club table topper. I'm a little iritated that the pattern had a mistake in it, but it turned out well anyway. For the 8.5" setting triangles, you don't need to cut 8 from the left and 8 from the right. They are exactly the same.

Here are my leader/ender blocks that I finished this weekend.

For the October Shipshewana Retreaters, here are some photos of the room we will be sewing in.

Design Wall Monday

This is what was on my design wall early this morning. These are NICU quilts and the one on the bottom still needs another border.

And this is what's on there now. These blocks were made with a deceased gentleman's shirts. His daughter asked me to make a quilt with them and this is an easy-peasy pattern that looks nice to me.
