"The song is ended, but the melody lingers on..."
Irving Berlin
On Monday, my ex-husbands mother passed away quietly with most of her family close by. She led a full life and was such a strong woman. She very much enjoyed taking a long walk early in the morning every day, and was a regular participant in the Walk for Diabetes.
I had a deep admiration for her and we continued to be friends after Jack and I divorced. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I feel very blessed to have known "Dollie."
Here she is with my mother during a birthday celebration. Their birthdays were one day apart so they always got to share a cake.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Sending hugs your way and prayers to Him.
So sorry you have lost a loved one. I am guessing the lady on the right is your mom. Am I right?
I am so sorry for your loss.
Just found your blog; will be back for another visit.
Always blessed,

I'm sorry for your loss, she sounds like a wonderful lady.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, and respect the relationship you were able to maintain with her. While having a very good relationship with my own mom, I was also very close to my mother-in-law. She died while I was pregnant with my first child, and we still miss her very much and talk about her frequently. Prayers for you and all in your family.
i am sorry for your loss ...... it is good that you and your former mother-in-law remained friends after your divorce ... my ex's mother and i were not friends before, but we are now ... i think we appreciate each others' strengths, instead of seeing only weaknesses and shortcomings.
Ruthie, I am so sorry for your loss. Please give the kids an extra hug from me, and have them give you one from me, as well. I wish I could deliver that hug in person. Eve
Sorry to hear about your loss Ruthie, it's great that you had such a great relationship with your mother-in-law (ex or not!)
