Design Wall Monday
These blocks are my #6 UFO and I intend to finish this one this month. They are from a workshop by Kay Capps Cross.
Ahh, I remember the workshop well..........She caught me using my rotary cutter to cut strips instead of tearing them, and she took it away.
Not long after that, she caught me using pins to pin the three layers together and ..........yep, she took them away also.
I did have 5 blocks finished after the workshop, but them they got put away. the pattern calls for a thin strip of black/white fabric as sashing, but I'm thinking I might add alternating red/lime green borders to the blocks.

that will be a great quilt-yea for getting it done!
Sometimes good habits are hard to break! Those trees will make a great little winter quilt.
LOL love the alternate quilt police story and those wonky trees. I like your idea of adding a couple of colors too. It will be fun to watch this one come together.
I like the red and green, really makes your trees dance. Have fun finishing this.
The red looks great in there with the blocks. I also like pink with black and white.
What a funny story. I don't Think I would have enjoyed that class too much. Thank goodness you stuck it out. I love those trees.
Cheers

Great story, I can see that happening. I love the red, but the green is getting lost. Try a brighter green. You are right, it needs the color to offset the b&w. By the way, are you going to rip your sashing strips ;)
Yes, I like your red and greens to go with that. Looks great.
I hate ripping fabric...yuck!
This is a really cute quilt and I like your idea of red and green sashing strips.
I like the red and green.
Love the trees! Maybe mostly green and white borders with an occasional red one thrown in for pizazz!
Love the story...
Those blocks are great! Can't wait to see you get them done.
Jaunty and wonky and fun! I like the idea of adding a bright color.
I love your trees and the red and green make a great contrast to the green and white: I like color.
The trees are very neat. I remember someone telling me how to use my ruler - after I had been using it - apparently incorrectly LOL
Hi Ruthie, I came here from Judy L's Design Wall Monday. Love your little trees!
