Redwork Giveaway

Lynette Anderson is giving away a copy of her new redwork stitchery pattern called A Trio Of Greetings. She has some beautiful patterns. I haven't done any redwork, but would like to try. My friend Janet does a lot of it and has even given me a wall hanging that I cherish.

Relay For Life

My friend Judy has just finished her last round of chemo and is back to work, just as peppy and upbeat as ever. She is a member of the Common Threads Quilt Guild and requested 9" pink and white blocks from members to make a quilt for the Relay For Life event. I offered to quilt it for her and she dropped it off Monday evening. Last night I loaded it and did the quilting using a new panto - Button Flower by Keryn Emmerson, PermaCore white thread and Warm & White batting.
Well, here is another panto that I really like. I tend to shy away from those pantographs that crossover quilting lines, because I don't generally do that in free-motion quilting, so I didn't care for the look, but this one - I really Like!
I left Judy a message saying the quilt is finished and can't wait for her to pick it up.

Here's a close-up of her ribbon blocks:

Dinner and A Quilt!

Last night I was treated to a birthday dinner with Janet and Denise at Camille's Sidewalk Cafe. What a lovely new place to eat! I had a Camille's Club sandwich on wheat bread and it was yummy! I was too full for desert, but they sure looked good.

Then it was back home to load Jan's quilt. It turned out very nice and I hope she likes it. The panto is FeelingGroovy, the thread is PermaCore camel and the batting is Warm & Natural.

Back to Quilting

On the quilting side of things, I did load and quilt this one yesterday.

And a closeup of the Jacobean pantograph by Keryn Emmerson. It's 9" wide and quilts up just wonderful. I used Warm & Natural batting and Mother Goose PermaCore thread.

Then I loaded and started this one:

Graduation Party

How wonderful it was to see all Tony's friends and relatives at his party on Saturday. It is so nice to get to spend time with those that you don't see often. The weather in the morning was HORRIBLE. It rained so much that Hamilton Creek was running through their back yard. It's a good thing they have a big backyard. The food was wonderful, GREAT JOB JULIE AND ANGIE! You two should go into the catering business!

I forgot to get a photo of Tony's cake before it got cut, but here it is with just a few cuts:

Here is Tony with his T-shirt quilt.

FAMILY!

What a wonderful weekend!

My favorite aunt and uncle, Ellen & Ed from Green bay, WI, were in town this weekend for Tony's graduation party.

We had a wonderful time with them......from Friday evening sneaking out the wrong door at a restaurant (yes, we did pay before we left) to cruising the streets of Lafayette in their convertible and ending up at the Frozen Custard on Saturday night. I haven't been there on a Saturday night for YEARS!

Saturday morning Ed and Dan did a little pond fishing...

...while Ellen and I played on the longarm.
