Cake, party treats and FNSI

I finished Andrew's Chuggington cake tonight. Certainly not my best work but I'm sure he will like it.



Then I made some party favors for him. I picked up these cookie cutters for 25 cents at Joanns a couple months ago with a plan to use them for this. I read it on a blog, but now I can't find it to know who to give the credit to. Anyway, I melted Wilton candy melts and added rice krispies. I placed the cookie cutters on a cookie sheet with a sheet of wax paper. I spooned the chocolate into the cookie cutters and placed the whole thing in the fridge to chill.



Then I placed one in each bag, complete with ribbon. I added a little tag that I made with Chuggington on one side and Andrew's party info on the other.




Now on to the sewing room for a little Friday Night Sew-In

Friday Night Sew-In

Yep, I'm sewing tonight.



First the BOM blocks for tomorrow morning. I don't know how it got to be the end of October already, but they will be done for show n tell.

TA-DA....

Then Julie's placemats I started in Shipshe. I DIDN'T GET TO THESE TONIGHT :(

But, I did get these treat bags made. One for Andrew and one for Elizabeth.





Both have the same lining fabric.



Finished the outside applique on a dresden plate block.

Friday Night Sew-In

Gosh, it's been a long blogless week for me. What did I do?

Well, I worked on Cathy's quilt a bit, attended 2 guild meetings, went out for dinner 2 times, got food poisoning, made a visit to the doctor, spent quite a bit of time lounging. And here it is Friday and I'm ready to get some sewing done.

So, I'm joining the Friday Night Sew-In.
I'll be working on Jimmy's fire Escape quilt. Jimmy workes with me and he has spent a year or so battling cancer and got a clean bill of health last week. When I asked him for a favorite color, he said, "Orange." Well, I tried to find a pattern that would look masculine in orange and I think this one will work.
