Back From Shipshewana

What a wonderful retreat! I can't believe it's here and gone already. I so enjoyed meeting everyone and am simply amazed by the talents of our group. Show and Tell was a treat and Jane's idea of laying everything out in the lounge area and walking around to see all the wonderful projects made it great. We could ask questions if we wanted more info and those that wanted to get back to sewing could browse quickly and get right back to work. We did show and tell on Friday and I'll bet if we had waited another day, there would have been twice a much.

The Farmstead Inn was the perfect setting with clean spacious guest rooms and an ample sewing room. Next year we will try to get an even larger sewing area so we have more room to lay out those works in progress.

To the Retreaters:
Thanks so much for the wonderful gift and I really appreciate your kind words on the postcards. It really was a fun event to plan and I have already been talking to the group coordinator about 2011.

Here is a link to some photos. Not all of them have captions yet. If you know who the owners of the show and tell items are, please leave a comment on the photo.

Shipshewana 2010 Update - Registration Closed

Since I have received 4 registrations in the mail in the last 2 days, I must close the registration now. I am so sorry that I can't continue to take registrations from all who wish to attend and I had no idea the response would be so good. The 2 larger meeting rooms are already booked, so we can't upgrade at this time.

I'm sure we will have a wonderful time and I can't wait!

If you are interested in attending, but haven't sent me your check and form, please send me an email and I will start a waiting list. You never know what might happen between now and October.

Shipshewana 2010 Update

I've received deposits and forms from 38 quilters and I have 4 that have been listed as roommates. As of now I'm saving a place for them even though I haven't gotten their money/forms yet.

I just got off the phone with the Farmstead Inn and it looks like we can take another 3-4 participants and that's all, otherwise the sewing room may be too crowded.

To say I'm pleased with the response would be an understatement. I realize that one could have reservations about sending in a deposit for a retreat to someone you don't know, but I'm glad you have faith in me to provide you with a wonderful retreat experience. I'm sure you are as anxious as I am to work on another JudyL Mystery Quilt.

So, if you've been planning to send in your forms, please do it soon. To those who are registered, I look forward to meeting you and if you owe a balance, I will send out a reminder closer to the retreat.

Happy Quilting!

Shipshewana Retreat 2010

OK, the Shipshewana Registration Form is ready and I am very excited to be coordinating this event.

The dates are Thursday, October 21 - Sunday, October 24th, 2010 and we are staying at the Farmstead Inn.

Retreat Cost: (Includes Lodging, 3 Continental Breakfasts, and $15 non-refundable sewing room fee)
Single = $350
2 persons/room = $175/per person
3 persons/room = $127/per person
4 persons/room = $103/per person

I have a block of 20 rooms reserved and your deposit is due by January 2, 2010.

Don't forget, there will be a JudyL mystery quilt.

The retreat is not affiliated with any one group, so, if you have any friends that would be interested, please let them know. We're just quilters getting together to sew, eat and shop in Shipshewana. There's no better place to do all 3 of those, in my opinion.

If you've never been to Shipshewana, you're in for a real treat.

Noreply Bloggers and Shipshewana Retreat 2010

Darlynn and Carolynn,

I have added you to the list of retreaters, but I need an email address and full names for you and your friends, please.

Remember, if your email is set to "noreply" there is no way that I can contact you.

I can't believe we have to wait a full year + 2 months before we go, but that's plenty of time to figure out what to work on and plenty of time to invite our friends.

Don't forget that JudyL will be leading a mystery quilt for us.
