Chili Blast Quilt

It's finished, binding and all.



Last night I finished hand sewing the binding on the Chili Blast quilt. This little quilt is my donation to the Annual Duke Smyser Chili Blast. This is such a worthwile event and I'm happy to donate something. I'm not sure if it will be a door prize or something else.



The pattern is called Crazy Nine Patch, the quilting is Stars & Loops, Hobbs 80/20 batting, and the thread is Aztec Gold Permacore and Glide in the bobbin.

Charlotte's Crazy 9-Patch

Charlotte made this stunning quilt for her daughter and hopes to give it to her this weekend. She and her husband both went to Purdue so I think that's why she picked these colors. I squeezed it in last night and it is oh-so-nice!



She decided on Stars & Loops Pantograph and I used PermaCore Old Gold and Magna-Glide Sand Prewound bobbin. The batting she brought was Warm and White.

This is my first try at such a contrasting thread in the bobbin, but I like it.

Kylee's quilt is quilted

I finished the quilting, Popcorn, on Kylee's quilt this evening after a wonderful dinner with Julie, Andrew and Elizabeth. Tomorrow I'll tackle the binding.

I can't believe how quickly they are growing up. They are both very well behaved and I actually asked Julie tonight if they ever throw a fit. You know the kind, it usually happens in a store, and those big crocodile tears are pouring down some little child's face. I can only imagine they didn't get what they wanted and they'll be fine in a few minutes.

Anyway, Julie, I think you're a wonderful mom!

Pam's Crazy Nine-Patch
Very seldom do I have a customer that doesn't want their quilt's photos posted online. When Pam picked up her quilt last night, she decided to not sign the release for me to post them because she is planning to write her own version of the pattern. So, that one won't be shown here, and you'll just have to take my work for it that it turned out nice.
