Shipshewana Retreat 2010

Well, while at Paducah this past April with JudyL, Elaine, and Becky, we decided to do a Shipshewana Retreat in 2010. The retreat is not affiliated with any one group, so, if you have any friends that would be interested, please let them know. We're just quilters getting together to sew, eat and shop in Shipshewana. There's no better place to do all 3 of those, in my opinion.

The dates are Thursday, October 21 - Sunday, October 24th, 2010 and we are staying at the Farmstead Inn.

An approximate breakdown of the cost is:
$99+tax for a double room with 2 queen beds per night. (add $10 per night for each additional guest, so if you want to share a bed, it's pretty cheap).
PLUS The sewing room will be $400 for the entire retreat and will be divided among attendees. A very nice complementary continental breakfast is served at the inn, but your other meals will be on your own.

I have a block of 20 rooms reserved and can release any unneeded rooms until 30 days prior to the retreat.
This is going to be a simple quilting retreat and I'm not planning a lot of extra activities, although there will be a JudyL mystery quilt.

If you've never been to Shipshewana, you're in for a real treat. If you might be interested, let me know.

Omg!! Count me in! I have been wanting to go to Shipshewana for a year now! But with Judy L there, we can't buy fabric! Ugh! :)

Definitely count me in!

Wow, I'm very interested in this retreat you are planning. I would be more than happy to share a room with another quilter. I'm from the West Coast. Where do you fly in to? Ruthie can you send me more details and if you need a deposit?

Ruthie,
I am very interested in your retreat. I met you at 2008 RIM. Please add my name and my friend Barb Kopas to your list.

I have never been able to be at RIM in June. October and Shipshewana could work for me and oh, would I love to see Elaine again! Put me on this list. BTW, I'll be buying fabric!! When do you want a deposit, Ruthie?

I am also very interested. If Karen would like to share a room, I am available to share w/her. She can fly into O'Hare & I'll pick her up. I'm only 20 min. from the airport.

I've not been to Shipshewana since my youth, can't wait to go again & w/such great company too!

This sounds like fun! I'll probably shop hop all the way from NJ - and maybe after the retreat drive to Wisconsin and Minnesota... I'd be needing a roommate to cut down on costs ;)

Muffet,

Sharing a room sounds great. You are showing "no reply" when I click on your name. Send me your email address. Mine is iwritedocs@gmail.com.

I'm interested! With this much lead time, I should be able to make sure there are no schedule conflicts, too.

Like others have said, let me know if/when you need a deposit. I love retreats! And in Shipshe, I will CERTAINLY be buying fabric -- are you kidding me? There's a great shop there, Lolly's. They will certainly get to keep some of my money ;-)

I want to attend! Sounds like heaven and after meeting up with Judy L, Elaine and Co at Paducah this year, I know it will be FUN! Please send deposit info when you've got it to izoofan2 AT hotmail DOT com. I'd love to share a room with someone.

Being a loyal Judy L reader, she shared your Shipshewana adventure. I and a couple of other friends would like to attend. Of course I can book a room on my own, but how do we get added to "the list"?

Thanks
darlynn

Jean, That's wonderful news. You will have a wonderful time.
I'll put you on the list and send you info with more details soon.

The closest airport is South Bend and it's an hour away. Chicago Midway is 2.5-3 hours away, as is Indianapolis.
I won't be collecting deposits for a while yet. I will need to pay 1/4 the fees by 2 months before the retreat, so we have lots of time to prepare.

NOTE TO ALL NO-REPLY BLOGGERS:
I have no way of contacting you unless you give me your email address.

ruthie...I think I sent you an e-mail asking to be put on the list. Haven't heard from you, so I thought I would say it again. Also, I would like to know how many rooms are still available as I might be able to talk a couple friends of mine into going, too. Thanks.
