Small Quilts, Too!

Last week wasn't all big quilts. These were quilted and some even have the binding applied.

Barb made this cute giraffe quilt for a great grandchild.

The brown and black fabrics are minkee.  Popcorn panto and Omni Goose thread. The backing and binding are giraffe spotted fabric, how cute!

Look at all those squares sewn together. That was a lot of work!

Vicci made this cute table runner.

Pink Paisley quilting, which you can hardly see. I got some practice on binding 60 degree corners.

Here's the backing with a little better image of the quilting.

Judy made this quilt for a nephew's baby. She wanted some special quilting as it would be a keeper in the family.
I quilted 1/4" from the edge of the star, using a ruler, Terry Twists with a feather in the 4-patches, and meander in the background.

I saw Judy at the One Stop Shop Hop in Kokomo last Saturday and only had a little photo to show her, so I 'm excited to show her the entire quilt.

Here is Carla's cute books wall hanging. It's only about 30" square and I used a new Fireworks panto for the quilting and Glide Silver thread.

How cute is the coloring on this one!

Mystery Quilt and Carla's Trees

And other stuff too!

First things first. An issue of Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks is on it's way to Cherie and Virginia. I hope you enjoy them ladies!

My Clue 1 of Bonnie Hunters Grand Illusion Mystery Quilt is finished and I have started on Clue 2. This block was made using the Easy Angle ruler and 2.5" strips. I may try one of the other methods just to see.

Saturday at Quilts For Kids we had a gift card tree for Cathy and Barbara, the coordinaters of the Indiana Chapter. Lots of quilters brought in gift cards to hang on thier tree and the trees were presented after we enjoyed the wonderful lunch that Pat made for us.

These little paper pieced Christmas tress were made by Carla. I quilted them all the same and am happy with the results. You know that I don't do much custom quilting, but once in a while it's ok.

Here's the back of one of them.

 Have a great week!

Carla's Owl Quilt

Carla made this oh-so-cute baby quilt for a business friend who is expecting. I think it's just adorable and looks like an easy one.

You could use just about any theme to make the applique in the wide strip. The logs are 2" x 6" and the quilt measures 42 x 50.

I chose a new to me pantograph, Prickly Pear, and used Omni white thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Here's the back:

I LOVE it!

Carla's Baby Quilt

Carla added some borders to this cute Corduroy the Bear panel to make a baby quilt for a co-worker.

One of my new panto's Cool Beans by Quilts Complete is the quilting, Light Blue Omni thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Here's the back, a cute bicycle fabric!

Carla's Kaffe

Carla made this bright, modern chevron quilt using some Kaffe Fasset fabrics.

I chose another new-to-me panto called Turbulence by Apricot Moon. I really like this one and it will quickly become a favorite of mine.

I used Lava Lava-Lava thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

The back looks washed out but is a beautiful mottled turquoise batik.

Carla's Modern Aqua, LIme Green and Gray

Carla made this beautiful modern style quilt. The fabrics are just beautiful and I pondered how to quilt it.

I considered doing straight lines, and then wavy lines, but decided on another new-to-me panto called Interlocking Sunflower by Dave Hudson.

I did make some adjustments to the paper pattern. I drew a better circle on the paper as the center lines were really all over the place and didn't look great.

Omni Gray thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Here's the backing:

Carla's 1600

Carla made this beautiful 1600 quilt. The black and white chevron border is wonderful!

I quilted it with a new-to-me panto called Flower Child. Glide white thread with Magna-glide bobbins add a bit of sheen to the quilt. Hobbs 80/20 batting.

I think it turned out great! Take a look at the back!

Carla's Baby Quilts

Here are a couple more baby quilts made by Carla.

This first one is a very cute panel with some borders. She has made quite a few of these, and I usually do custom quilting, but this one was to be simple.

Angel Wings panto for the quilting along with Hobbs bleached 80/20 batting and light pink PermaCore thread.

These cornerstones are from the panel, how cute!

This is another cute panel with some borders.

I chose Rhapsody for the quilting, Hobbs 80/20 batting and light pink thread again.

Look how pretty this backing fabric is!

Carla's Tropical Lime Green and Purple

Carla made this pretty little wall hanging and when I saw it, I knew just what design I wanted to use.

Whirlygig with Lime Green Omni thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting

Some closeups to see how awesome the stitching looks

And the back, which is very pretty fabric, but the quilting kind of gets lost.

Carla's 1930's Dress Quilt

Carla made another one of these oh-so-cute baby quilts. It's a panel with borders and cornerstones made from a part of the panel.

Light custom quilting with a freehand flower and loops border.

Meander in the blocks around the dresses and the printed rick-rack.

It's such a sweet baby quilt!
