The Crib Skirt

Last night I finished the crib skirt and now only have one more thing to make, a cover for the changing pad. They got one at a shower, but don't like the way it fits, so I'm going to try to come up with a better fitting one.

Anyway, here is the crib skirt:


The accent fabric is the same used as the sashing on the quilt.



Here's the crib they have. Now, won't this look nice? very similar to the one in the photo.

Underground Railroad

A few years ago, I quilted an Underground Railroad quilt for my online friend Ardie.

She told me at the time that she was planning to make another one and sent it to me last week. I just finished quilting it on Sunday and shipped it back to her already.









This one is just as beautiful as the first.

Permacore Camel thread, Hobbs 80/20 batting and Jacobean panto.

Valance Update

The valance is finished and the bed skirt is almost finished. I think these are going to look just beautiful in the nursery.

Design Wall Monday

It's kind-of hard to see the edges, but the scalloped valance for the baby's room is still on my design wall. I had hoped to finish it yesterday, but loaded a quilt and quilted instead. Also there are 2 little star blocks for my guilds opportunity quilt.

Gayla's Block of the Month

This quilt was made my friend Gayla. I believe it was purchased at Joann's as a block of the month. I used the Baptist Fan template, camel PermaCore thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

I have 4 quilts to quilt for her and I guess I did this one with a house because she moved to Arizona this week and is in search of a new home.

Who doesn't love a glass of wine while quilting?

I know that I sure do, although one glass, or maybe two is my limit. My face gets red as a fire truck and my shoulders feel like they could fall to the ground.



Anyway, Julie and I bought this wine making kit from Great Fermentations through Groupon. It retails for over $250, but our cost was only $90 and it will make 30 bottles of wine.



Our plan was to make this on Saturday, but that didn't happen. We drank a couple glasses of wine while watching the instructional DVD and decided it was too late in the day to start.

Someday soon we will put on our aprons and get it going.

To give this post some quilty content, here's a pic of my crayon challenge, all finished and ready for the July meeting. I finished the binding last night at the Old Tippe guild meeting and put the label on when I got home.
