Cathy's Blue and Brown

Last summer, Jeni and I made a quilt for our 40th class reunion. I think Jeni has 5 or 6 sisters and I don't know how many of them are quilters, but her mom and her aunt are quilters also. One of her sisters, Cathy, made this quilt and I believe it's her very first bed quilt. She was so excited to have it quilted.

Angel Wings Begonia is the panto, Scarab Permacore thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.
The colors aren't true in the first and last photos, but it is just lovely. The aqua/blue and brown are so pretty together.

Sue's Island Batiks

I'm not sure of the real name of this quilt, but I've named it Sue's Island Batiks. It's really pretty! She brought me 3 quilts last year and said there was no hurry. Well, you know what that means in my world....that every other person who squeeks, as in the squeeky-wheel, gets their quilts done first. She's been real patient, but I think it's time I got her beautiful quilts quilted.

So, here's the first one:

I chose Angel wings Begonia as the quilting design and I'm really loving this pantograph. It goes fast and looks great, especially on these batik quilts.

Here's the pieced backing....what a nice idea!

Carolyn's Navy and Tan Interlocking Rings

Carolyn made this quilt and I really love her border fabric!

 The colors in this photo aren't true. What looks orange is really a beautiful tan fabric.

We chose Jacobean as the quilting design, Omni tan thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

It looks like this was a pretty confusing pattern to put together and make sure that the pieces looked like they are interlocking. I didn't notice it while quilting, but when I look at the photo of the whole quilt, I can see it.

Carolyn's T-shirt Quilt

Carolyn made this wonderful t-shirt quilt for her son. It's 2-sided and she really took the time to plan this one.

One side has shirts from his school days and boy scouts. On the bottom row in this picture, there are 2 blocks that have patches sewn on. I just stitched them close to the satin stitching to make sure they stay on. I'll have to take a closeup of those blocks.

The other side has college and the Army shirts and parachute material.

It really is a great idea to make it 2-sided, but it's pretty heavy. I quilted it with a meander, Gray Permacore thread and used Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Kathy's Beautiful Baby Quilt

It's was a week filled with baby quilts, as you can see.

Kathy made this oh-so cute disappearing 9-patch quilt for her beautiful granddaughter. I wonder how many quilts she has by now?

I just love how colorful this one is. I can tell that she used the pink polka-dot for the center block, the bears and flowers for the corners, and the other polka-dots for the centers. I think it's great! I may teach this one to the Quilts For Kids stitchers.

Popcorn panto, since it was already rolled out, pink thread, I think! and she brought a batting.

Kim's Baby Panel Quilt

Kim brought this flannel, very cute baby panel for me to quilt.

I just did a meander on all but the birds and I stitched close to them and close to the feather and eye. Lite Pink Permacore thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

A very sweet, soft baby quilt!
