Dragonflys for Angie

Angie made this lap size quilt from leftovers of two quilts.

She really likes dragonflies, so I chose a Dragon Fly panto to quilt this one.

 Permacore gold thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Angie's Zippy Strippy

Angie made this quilt for her son and it so reminds us of 1980's video games. It's a 1600, zippy strippy quilt and she added colored squares in between each of the black strips. It's interesting how they are all clumped together. I wonder if she mixed up the colored squares or added all the same color before moving on to the next.

Angie's Twin Quilts

Angie made these two quilts, one for her mom and one for her aunt. Same fabrics and pattern, just different borders. So cute!

The first one I quilted with Ribbons and Roses panto.

This one has Button Flower panto.

Both have Hobbs 80/20 batting and Omni Cream thread.

Angie's Irish Chain

I think this quilt is called an Irish Chain, but I could be wrong. Angie made it for a neighbor and it's very pretty. I chose to do a panto because of the fabrics. I though that custom quilting might get lost on this one, and she didn't care one way or the other.

Jacobean is the quilting design because of some of the designs on the fabric.

Great job Angie! It was a joy to quilt!

Angie's Charmed and Dangerous

Angie brought this quilt a few weeks ago and said she liked the quilting on the cover of the pattern.

I duplicated it pretty closely.

The pattern had a large meander in the shapes around the 4-patches and I'm not sure what was in the outer borders. I chose to do something different in those shapes, and beadboard for the outer borders. The stippling around the feather flower and the continuous curves are from the pattern photo.

Julieanne worked on this quilt at Shipshewana last October. It's a pretty advanced pattern for someone's 2nd quilt, but she did a wonderful job on it.

I quilted with Winter White panto, white permacore thread and Hobbs 80/20 bleached batting.

Angie's Pick-up Sticks

Angie made this flannel quilt for her brother. The pattern is called Pick-up Sticks and she said it will be a reminder to them both of the hours they spent playing pick-up sticks when they were kids.

Square Spiral panto and Omni Safari thread. Please forgive the shadow, it was just that time of day.

Julie's Zippy Strippy

Actually, this should be called Angie's Zippy Strippy because Angie actually pieced this one at Shipshewana, but made a trade with her daughter Julie for a beautiful snowflake, lemoyne star quilt.



I think this one is going to Julie's boyfriend for Christmas, so in keeping with the maaculine theme, we chose square spiral panto. I used Omni Safari thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting. What a great quilt for a guy!

Angie's Turning Twenty

Angie made this great quilt with some fat quarts that Julie bought for her at Always In titches. They have this great sale where you can get 25 FQs for $30. She bought a set for herself and one for Angie.



Angie did a great job at distributing the colors and I love the Square Spiral pantograph on it.



Hobbs 80/20 batting and PermaCore Eggshell thread.

A Couple of BIG Quilts

I finally got some photos of Angie's Turning Twenty quilt. Actually I took them just before she picked it up on Friday. She used a Red Rooster FQ tower from Erica's and It turned out great. Angie has only been quitling a little over a year and she has made some great quilts already.



The panto is Double Rose Vine by Norma Sharp and the thread is PermaCore Pine which blended quite nicely.



This one was made by Barb and I love the fabrics!



She likes her borders to be done separately, so I used Daisy Swirl by Jodi Beamish in the center and one row of Double Rose Vine in the borders. That meant unloading and reloading sideways to do the side borders, but I think it turned out great and she loved it.

Angie's Nine Patch Quilt

Another pretty fall quilt....this one was made by Angie, who is a very new quilter. She made this one for her mom for Christmas and boy will her mom be pleased! The nine patch fabrics are Kansas Troubles, I think....yummy!



Quilted with Feather Me panto, Coats & Clark variegated brown/gold thread on top and So Fine in the bobbin, Hobbs 80/20 batting.
