It Pays to be Carla's Friend!

Carla went on a little vacation with some of her friends who are not quilters. There was a quilt shop across from their hotel, and of course, she had to check it out. Her friends picked out fabrics and she agreed to make them each a quilt. Here are the first one all quilted. 

This first one we chose Daisy Swirl panto and I think it works very well with this quilt. Isn't the layout just spectacular? Permacore Light Sunshine thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Lisa's Baby Quilt

Lisa, a member of my guild, made this adorable baby quilt.

I chose Daisy Swirl panto, Omni Pearl White thread, with just a touch of pink, and Hobbs 80/20 bleached batting. I just love the fabrics she chose.

Laura's Baby Quilt

Laura made this darling quilt for her granddaughter, Chloe. She had baby shower participants decorate a square of paper and then she hand embroidered their designs onto these squares. The colors in this first photo are not very true. The second one is closer.

She had the quilt tied, but was worried that it wouldn't hold up. We decided on the panto Daisy Swirl and I used So Fine and Bottom Line threads along with Hobbs 80/20 bleached batting.

It is an heirloom for sure!

Debbie's Queen's X Quilt

One of last years retreat lotto blocks was The Queen's X, a quilterscache pattern. Debbie liked these blocks so much that she made a quilt for her granddaughter. I love the pastel colors she chose for making these.



Since some of her background fabrics had daisies in it, we chose daisy swirl panto. Permacore white thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Back to my Regularly Scheduled Quilting

I quilted these 2 quilts for Carole this week.

First up was her flying geese.

Carole's Chinese Coins

Saturday afternoon I loaded and quilted this one for Carole. Every time I quilt one of these coin quilts, I think of all the leftovers I have from projects and how cute they would be made up like this.



I picked the panto Daisy Swirl, Permacore Canary thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

I knew I had to finish it up on Saturday because Adrienne was coming to quilt Sunday at 9:30. She quilted this very cute baby quilt, using Ribbon Twirl Panto. The baby is almost 4 months old and will love the bright colors.

A Couple of BIG Quilts

I finally got some photos of Angie's Turning Twenty quilt. Actually I took them just before she picked it up on Friday. She used a Red Rooster FQ tower from Erica's and It turned out great. Angie has only been quitling a little over a year and she has made some great quilts already.



The panto is Double Rose Vine by Norma Sharp and the thread is PermaCore Pine which blended quite nicely.



This one was made by Barb and I love the fabrics!



She likes her borders to be done separately, so I used Daisy Swirl by Jodi Beamish in the center and one row of Double Rose Vine in the borders. That meant unloading and reloading sideways to do the side borders, but I think it turned out great and she loved it.

Dan's Back and A Baby Quilt

I only worked for an hour this morning and then came home to care for Dan, who has pulled something in his back again. He spent most of Friday through today resting with ice and lots of Advil and Tylenol. He got in to see Dr. Clark this afternoon and is feeling much better. He will still not be able to go to work, but I'll feel ok leaving him for the day tomorrow now that he can walk again.

I did get a chance to load and quilt this lovely quilt made by Peggy and Kathy. I believe it's for a co-worker expecting a baby. Isn't it just cute as can be? I love how the secondary designs come out. Sometimes I see stars and sometimes I see square-in-a-square.

I loaded and quilted Deb's yellow and blue quilt today. I'm not sure of the name, but the panto, Daisy Swirl, by Lorien Quilting that she picked out is perfect for this quilt. The batting is Hobbs 80/20, and the thread is Permacore Light Leghorn.



And the back, which shows a better likeness of the color, a soft yellow.




Here are some shots of Jennifer's Chinese Coins from yesterday. It's a beautiful quilt and her sister Misty (the recipient of this quilt) is certainly lucky to have talented Jennifer as a sister.

2 Quilts for Carol

Put your sunglasses on cause this yellow one is really bright.



Daisy Swirl is the quilting design, Permacore canary thread, and Hobbs 80/20 batting.



This one uses the same thread and batting, but I choose to use my Circle Lord Swirls templates to play off of the circles in her fabrics.
