Decisions, Decisions....

OK, I'm looking for opinions here. Which way would you applique these onto the muslin squares?

I had several questions regarding the steps used in creating these blocks, so I have uploaded photos in a Webshots album HERE showing the proccess.

The one on the right. Don't ask me for a reason why...I just like it better.

are the two photographs for comparing because i can't see anything as far as applique goes...lol...i would use a blanket stitch...similar to the one my mom did on a dresden quilt she quilted for a customer...pics somewhere on my blog...she did her blanket stitch in black and it was striking...

I like to do them with the points on the centers like the one on the left. It is easier to line up the seams on the centers like the one on the right. IMHO--LOL! It's just
a matter of personal choice. I don't think it affects the final out come of the quilt. Hugs, Gwen

Points on the centers also. They just look "right" that way. Why don't you look up some others and see if there is a preference?

Points on center here too. I wish I was on your list. My blocks are done except for the signatures.

Left photo. Had to look hard to see what was different! Fabrics are great!

It took a minute to see the difference...I think I'd do the block as shown on the left.

I'm thinking points on the folds.

I like them on point too, but you have to be careful with the size of the background, if you are 'frugal' they look like they are almost touching the edge..
ask a quilter what she thinks and you'll get a bazillion answers! LOL

Lissa
who has done dresdens both on point and not, but never done black blanket stitch.. I do have an antique set of blocks done in black thread and it does look good..

I like the one on the left, with the points in the center. Each one is so very pretty, though. What a nice project!
